By the end of this guide you'll know how to move each investor through your fundraising pipeline using the Next Steps panel in the opportunity drawer, send personalized outreach, change an opportunity's status, and rely on automatic emails to keep both you and your investors in sync.
Note
Managing your pipeline is a GP task. You need access to your firm's workspace and to the fundraise you're working. This guide assumes you've already created a fundraise and added opportunities; see Create a fundraise if you haven't yet.
Open an opportunity and find Next Steps
On a fundraise, select any opportunity to open its drawer. Near the top of the drawer you'll find the Next Steps section, which gathers every action that opportunity needs right now into one place. If an opportunity has nothing outstanding, the Next Steps section doesn't appear.
Next Steps separates two kinds of action so you can tell what's urgent at a glance:
- Actions where the investor is waiting on you are highlighted in amber. These are the most urgent — the investor has hit a point in the flow that only you can move past, such as approving them at a gate or counter-signing.
- Actions you can take to move things forward appear in a calm, gray style. These are optional pushes you initiate, such as sharing the opportunity or sending a signing request.
Note
Next Steps only shows actions you can act on now. If an action depends on an earlier one — for example, approving a signature can't happen until a subscription template is in place — Covercy One keeps the later action hidden until you've cleared the thing it depends on, so the panel never asks you for two things at once.
