By the end of this guide you'll have created your firm in Covercy One and filled in the company profile and workspace settings your team and investors will see.
You'll set up your firm the first time you sign in, before you reach the dashboard. To edit your company profile later, you need the GP Admin role. If your fields are read-only, ask a workspace admin to make the change or grant you access.
Talk to our team (se abre en una pestaña nueva)Create your firm during onboarding
When you sign in for the first time and aren't yet part of a firm, Covercy One asks you for a few basics about your company before it opens your workspace.
- Enter your Company name. This is required.
- Optionally upload a Company logo (an image file such as PNG or JPG). You can preview it, and remove or replace it before you continue.
- Select Create Account.
Covercy One creates your firm and opens the GP dashboard. As the person who completed setup, you become a GP Admin and the firm's primary contact, so you can manage settings and invite your team.
Complete your company profile
After onboarding, fill in the rest of your company details so your firm appears complete to your team and investors. Open Settings and go to GP Profile.
- Review the company information: company name, a "doing business as" name, main email address, logo, EIN, website, and phone number. Company name and main email address are required.
- Add your business address, including street, city, state, postal code, and country.
- Select Save Changes.
The GP Profile page shows a profile completeness indicator. Filling in more fields raises it toward complete, which helps your firm look polished to investors. Aim to complete every field you can.
Talk to our team (se abre en una pestaña nueva)Set your primary contact
Your firm has one primary contact — the main point of contact for the organization. The person who completed onboarding starts as the primary contact. A GP Admin can change it from the Primary Contact section of the GP Profile page by selecting Change and choosing another GP Admin. To keep your firm manageable, at least one GP Admin must always remain, so the option is unavailable when you're the only admin.
Adjust display settings
The GP Profile page also includes a Display Settings section where a GP Admin can set workspace preferences, such as how many decimal places percentage values use across your interface. Choose your preference and select Save. The change affects how values are displayed only — your underlying data keeps its full precision.
Verify it worked
Open the GP dashboard to confirm your firm is set up, then return to Settings and check that your company profile shows the details you saved after a refresh. When everything looks right, you're ready to invite your team and start working. If a field won't save or appears read-only, confirm you have the GP Admin role, or reach out to our team for help.
- Can I change my company name or logo after onboarding?
- Yes. A GP Admin can update the company name, logo, and other profile details any time from Settings → GP Profile, then select Save Changes.
- Why are my company profile fields read-only?
- Editing the company profile requires the GP Admin role. If you have the GP Member role, the fields are shown for reference but can't be changed — ask a GP Admin to make the update or grant you admin access.
- Do I have to upload a logo to finish setup?
- No. A logo is optional during onboarding. You can skip it and add or change it later from your GP Profile settings.
