Discover opportunities on your portal

Browse the investment opportunities your sponsors have shared with you on the investor portal, read what each opportunity card tells you — including the sponsor's own description of the raise — understand why a deal does or doesn't appear in your list, reach deals your sponsor sent you as a link, and know when to expect an email about a newly available opportunity.

By the end of this guide you'll know how to find the investment opportunities available to you on your Covercy One investor portal, read what each opportunity card tells you — including the description the sponsor wrote for the raise — understand why a particular deal does or doesn't appear in your list, reach a deal your sponsor sent you as a link even when it isn't listed, open an opportunity to review its details, and recognize the email a sponsor may send you when a new opportunity becomes available.

Note

You need a Covercy One investor portal account to browse opportunities. Which deals you see is controlled by your sponsors (GPs): an opportunity appears only when a sponsor has invited you to it or shared it with investors like you. If a deal you expect is missing, contact the sponsor who manages it.

Browse your opportunities

  1. Sign in to your Covercy One investor portal.
  2. Open the Opportunities page.
  3. Review the opportunity cards. Each card shows the fund name, the sponsor's own short description of the raise, where the property is and what type of asset it is, whether the holding is a fund or a single asset, the sponsor's branding (logo and organization name), and the highlights the sponsor chose to surface for that raise. A deal without a cover photo shows its name and the sponsor's logo over a branded background instead.
  4. Select an opportunity to open its full details.

The description under a card's title is the sponsor's own summary of the raise, written for the card. It's separate copy from the deal's landing page, so it won't necessarily repeat what you read once you open the opportunity — treat it as the headline and open the deal for the full offering. It appears exactly as the sponsor wrote it, in the language they wrote it in, whatever language your portal is set to.

Note

The description and the highlights are both the sponsor's choice, so two cards in the same list can carry different facts — that's deliberate, not a page still loading. A raise whose sponsor wrote no description simply shows none, and a deal with only a few highlights isn't padded out with filler to match the cards beside it. Cards sitting side by side stay level with each other either way, so a card with less on it hasn't failed to load.

If you've already committed to a deal, your own commitment appears on that deal's card in your portal, alongside whatever description and highlights the sponsor put there. That's yours alone to see — the same deal's card on a sponsor's public Opportunities page never shows anyone's commitment — and it's the reason to browse from the portal rather than from a public link when you want to know where you already stand.

Note

If you open a link to the opportunities page while signed out, you're asked to sign in first and then land on the page you were headed to.

Why an opportunity appears in your list

Each sponsor decides who can see each of their deals on the portal. An opportunity appears in your list for one of these reasons:

  • You were invited directly. The sponsor sent you a personal invitation, which also arrives by email with a link to the deal.
  • The deal is shared with the sponsor's existing investors. You already hold an investment with that sponsor, and they opened the deal to related investors.
  • The deal is shared with all of the sponsor's contacts. You're in the sponsor's contact list, and they opened the deal to everyone in it.

If none of these apply to a deal, it doesn't appear in your list. When nothing is available to you at the moment, the page shows an empty-state message instead of a list.

If you invest with more than one sponsor through the same account, opportunities from all of your sponsors appear together in one list, and each card carries the branding of the sponsor offering that deal.

Deals you can reach outside your portal list

Your portal list is only one of the ways a sponsor can put a deal in front of you. Alongside it, a sponsor can list a deal on their own public Opportunities page, which anyone can view without signing in, and every deal also has a direct link the sponsor can send you. Neither of those adds the deal to your portal list, so a deal you reached from a sponsor's website or from a link they emailed you may not appear when you sign in.

A deal offered through more than one of those channels reads the same on each: the card on the sponsor's public page carries the same description as the card in your portal.

Tip

Keep the links your sponsors send you. A deal's link keeps working even after the sponsor stops listing that deal publicly, so the link is the reliable way back to a deal you can't find on your Opportunities page.

Open an opportunity

Select any opportunity to see its full details, and choose Invest Now when you're ready to start investing. If the deal reached you through sharing rather than a direct invitation, opening it registers your interest with the sponsor and takes you to the deal's page, where you can review the offering and continue into the investment flow.

Note

In rare cases a shared deal won't open, or you can view it but the action to invest or express interest isn't available. This happens when the sponsor's records don't link you to that deal — contact the sponsor and ask them to add you as a contact or send you an invitation.

Email notifications for new opportunities

When a sponsor makes a new opportunity available to you on the portal, they can choose to notify you by email. The notification is titled "New opportunity available" with the deal's name, greets you by first name, carries the sponsor's branding, and shows the same style of opportunity card you see on your portal. Its View Opportunity button opens the Opportunities page on your portal.

Note

Sending this notification is the sponsor's choice, so a new opportunity can appear on your portal without an email. Direct invitations are different — those always arrive as their own invitation email. Check your Opportunities page from time to time so you don't miss deals that were shared quietly.

Warning

Covercy will never ask you to share your password, two-factor codes, or banking credentials by email, text, or phone. If an opportunity email seems unexpected, don't enter credentials through it — sign in to your Covercy One investor portal directly and open the Opportunities page; a genuine new deal will be waiting there.

Verify and get help

You're in the right place when the Opportunities page lists deal cards with sponsor branding — or shows the empty-state message when nothing has been shared with you yet. If a deal you expect is missing, or you can see a deal but can't act on it, contact the sponsor who manages that deal — they control invitations and sharing. If a card's description looks wrong or out of date, that's the sponsor's copy to change, so raise it with them too. If you have trouble signing in or the portal isn't loading, contact the Covercy support team.

Why does one deal's card show more than another's?
Each sponsor chooses what to put on their card — whether to write a description, and which highlights to surface for the raise — so two cards sitting side by side in the same list can carry different facts. A card with only a few highlights, or none at all under its title, isn't incomplete or still loading; it's showing everything that sponsor chose to put on it. Open the opportunity to see its full details.
Some cards have a blurb under the title and others don't. Why?
The description is the sponsor's summary of the raise, and writing one is optional. A raise whose sponsor hasn't written a description simply shows none, and the card still sits level with the other cards in its row — nothing has gone wrong. Ask the sponsor if you'd like more context before opening the deal.
The card's description isn't in my language. Can it be translated?
No. The description is the sponsor's own writing and is shown exactly as they wrote it, in whatever language they used. The rest of the page — labels, buttons, and headings — still follows the language your portal is set to.
Can I ask my sponsor to change what's on a card?
Yes. The description and the highlights belong to the sponsor's fundraise, so the sponsor is the one who edits them. If you work with sponsors who use Covercy One, the "Create a fundraise" guide covers where they write that description.
Can anyone else see my commitment on an opportunity card?
No. Your commitment on a deal's card is shown to you in your own signed-in portal. The same deal's card on the sponsor's public Opportunities page doesn't show anyone's commitment, even though it carries the same description.
Why don't I see an opportunity my sponsor told me about?
The sponsor may not have invited you to it or shared it with your group yet, or they may be distributing it only by direct link or on their own public Opportunities page — neither of which adds the deal to your portal list. Ask the sponsor to send you an invitation or the deal's link.
I found a deal on my sponsor's website. Why isn't it on my portal?
A deal listed on a sponsor's public Opportunities page is a separate channel from your portal list. Publishing it there doesn't change who it's shared with on the portal, so it won't appear when you sign in unless the sponsor also invites you or shares it with investors like you. You can still open it from the sponsor's page or from a link they send you, and it reads the same there as it would in your portal.
I invest with several sponsors — where do I find each sponsor's deals?
All in one place. The Opportunities page brings together the deals every one of your sponsors has invited you to or shared with you, and each card shows the branding of the sponsor offering it.
Will I always get an email when a new opportunity appears?
No. When a sponsor opens a deal to a wider group of investors, emailing them is optional, so a deal can appear on your portal without a notification. A direct invitation, on the other hand, always arrives by email. Checking the Opportunities page regularly is the reliable way to see everything available to you.
What happens when I select Invest Now?
Invest Now starts the guided investment flow for that deal, where you confirm your investing entity, sign the agreement, and fund your commitment. See the "Invest in an opportunity" guide for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Why can I see a deal but not express interest in it?
The sponsor's records don't yet link you to that deal, so the interest action is unavailable even though the deal is visible. Contact the sponsor and ask them to add you as a contact or send you an invitation.
