By the end of this guide you'll know how to read the progress bars on each of your investment cards: how much of your commitment you've contributed, how much has been called, how much is still uncalled, and how much has been distributed back to you.
Note
These progress bars appear on your investment cards in the investor portal. You see them automatically for each holding you're invested in — there's nothing to turn on. The figures are maintained by your fund manager and update as your investment progresses.
What the two bars show
Each investment card shows two stacked bars, one above the other, drawn on the same scale so you can compare them at a glance. The top bar breaks down your commitment, and the bottom bar shows how much has been distributed back to you.
The commitment bar
The commitment bar is split into up to three segments that together add up to your total commitment to the holding:
- Contributed — the money you've already paid in.
- Called — money the fund manager has called but that hasn't been paid in yet (a capital call you still owe).
- Uncalled — the part of your commitment that hasn't been called yet.
The bar's label shows your total committed amount. When you've contributed your full commitment, the bar appears as a single full segment with no called or uncalled portions. When no capital has been called yet, the whole bar shows as uncalled.
The distribution bar
The distribution bar shows how much has been distributed back to you, measured against the same scale as the commitment bar so you can see returns relative to what you committed. Its label shows the distributed amount along with how far it has progressed. If a holding has returned more than you committed, the label expresses that as a multiple of your commitment (for example, "1.4x"). If you haven't received any distributions yet, the bar is empty and the label reads "$0".
