By the end of this guide you'll have reopened a draft distribution, changed its details — period, source of funds, hurdles, and per-investor allocations — and saved your edits back to the same distribution.
Note
Editing distributions is a GP task. You need access to your firm's workspace and to the holding the distribution belongs to. If you can't find the distribution or the Edit action isn't shown, ask a workspace admin to grant you access to that holding.
Before you start
You can edit a distribution while it's still editable — for example a draft you haven't finalized. Editing reuses the same form you used to create the distribution, prefilled with everything you saved earlier, and your changes update the existing distribution rather than creating a new one. Once a distribution reaches a status that no longer allows changes, the Edit option is hidden and the distribution becomes read-only.
Open the distribution for editing
- Open the holding the distribution belongs to and go to its Distributions tab.
- Find the distribution you want to change in the list.
- Select Edit from the distribution's actions — either on its row in the list or on its detail page.
- The distribution form opens in edit mode, prefilled with the details you saved earlier.
Tip
If a distribution isn't editable, it won't offer an Edit action. When that happens, the distribution is past the point where its details can change — check its status on the detail page.
